Don’t Let Thanksgiving Ruin Your Diet

Published by angie32 under weight loss Edit This

Many people who wish to lose some excess weight have this terrible fear that Thanksgiving dinner will destroy their weight loss efforts and set them back on the road to rapid weight gain. They try to avoid having dinner with their friends and family and end up not enjoying the holiday at all.

But is that really the case? Can Thanksgiving dinner destroy a diet?

While it’s true that this holiday dinner contains a large amount of calories, you shouldn’t be afraid that it will ruin your diet. Just as one day of fasting will not get you to lose a lot of weight, so one night of a little indulgence will not ruin your long term weight loss efforts. However, that doesn’t mean that you should stuff yourself full of buttered turkey or any other fatty dishes. Eat moderately to enjoy yourself, not to make up for recent dieting efforts.

The most important thing you need to do in order to make sure that this dinner doesn’t cause you to slide back into unhealthy eating habits is to make a firm commitment to yourself that once the holiday is over, you take it upon yourself to start a new diet or continue the old one. I’m talking about having your post-thanksgiving diet plans ready so you can start the day after the holiday is over. That way, one night of indulgence will not become a habit.

I wish you and your family a happy Thanksgiving and a fabulous dinner.

Emotional Eating & Four Christmases

Published by angie32 under weight loss Edit This

There is a new film out called “Four Christmases” starring Reese Witherspoon. It’s this scene where her boyfriend is looking at an old picture of her when she was overweight. She says, ” I ate my feelings.” And he replies, “You must have had a lot of feelings.” That scene stood out to me. Is that the contributing factor in gaining weight. Emotions without an outlet. Not being able to deal with how we are really feeling. Pain, sorrow, anger, joy, love, disappointment all lost somewhere between our minds and Crispy Cremes. Managing our emotions is just as important as diet and exercised. If we don’t then we will eventually gain all the weight back. It’s very few overweight women or men who have never lost a pound in their life. Everyone has the power to lose weight. It’s not an impossible task. What’s difficult is maintaining that weight loss. Not letting our environment or circumstance dictate what goes onto our plate. We all have a lot of emotions it’s how we deal with them that counts. My question for the day that I’d like you to think about is…. Who are you? How do you deal with your emotions?

banana

There has been plenty of buzz about the new diet craze taking the nation by storm. What exactly does this new diet involve? Bananas. Yes, the Banana Diet is suppose to be the secret to accelerated weight loss. Originally started in Japan the diet is extremely simple. So, how do you go on the banana diet. Simple. Rule #1: Eat 1-2 bananas before each meal… minimum of 3 times a day. It’s that easy. If you eat, you’re going to eat 1-2 bananas before your meal. Before breakfast, eat 2 bananas. Before lunch, eat 2 bananas. Before dinner, eat 1 banana. So you eat 5 total bananas a day. Rule #2: Eat whatever you want for meals. This rule is simple… eat whatever you want, just as long as you eat 2 bananas before breakfast, 2 bananas before lunch, and 1 banana before dinner. Obviously eating healthier than normal would help your weight loss efforts even more, but it’s not 100% necessary. Bonus Rule: You can replace 1 banana with an apple before breakfast and lunch. As mentioned, you can replace a banana with an apple before breakfast and lunch. This is to help relieve possible boredom. Nothing more. The results for others have been amazing.

Setting Weight Loss Goals

Published by angie32 under weight loss Edit This

Weight loss is not supposed to be a blind man’s journey. It is not about waking up one day and wanting to lose weight. Rather, weight loss is a long term process of losing weight through healthy means and keeping the weight off with a healthy lifestyle. To kick start your weight loss journey, it is best to have a weight loss goal worksheet at hand so you can realistically set your goals and plans.

A weight loss goal worksheet can help keep track of your weight loss journey so you can monitor how much you have achieved in a specific amount of time. Ideally, your weight loss goal worksheet should be checked and consulted regularly by a doctor, so he can guide you on your journey, just in case you’ve lost your way.

Your weight loss goal worksheet contains the basic information including your height and weight at the start of your weight loss program, your body mass index (BMI), and your weight loss goals. There are many weight loss worksheets available on the internet. You can also make your own weight loss goal worksheet or you can consult with an expert to come up with a personalized and realistic worksheet.

In your weight loss journey, you might be tempted to find a shortcut so you can easily achieve your weight loss goal. But do not cheat your way to weight loss! It is important to undergo a healthy diet and exercise regime that will help promote healthy weight loss. The advantage of having a weight loss worksheet is you can set real goals and once you have achieved that goal, you can now start maintaining the weight you have lost.

One essential - yet difficult - part of weight loss is weight loss management. A weight loss worksheet can help you in weight loss management with ease.
